Perpignan is the capital of the French Roussillon and a beautiful city to visit for the day. Engaging architecture, an abundance of restaurants and some great shopping can all be found on foot around the old parts of the city. City maps and up to date info on events are available at your accommodation at La Farga and on our social sites.
Ceret is at the start of the Vallespir and a beautiful French Catalan town. It has a rich artistic heritage and is home to the Museum of Modern Art. Many artists reside and work in Ceret adding to its rich social fabric. It has a vibrant market on a Saturday with many gastronomic and artisan craft stalls. During the year there are many festivals and events, including the world famous Bull Run.
Figueres is the capital of the Alt Emporda and most famously the home of the Dali museum. It is a lively and engaging town and worth a trip to combine the world of Dali with some genuine Catalan atmosphere.
Girona is a beautiful city and like Perpignan to its north across the French border, compact and easily covered on foot for the day. Some of the architecture interspersed with green wooded space is simply stunning. It also has a leading role in the evolution of Catalan and world cuisine with the effects of El Bulli and the next generation of high end Spanish cooking everywhere. One of our favourite options on the rare days when the sun is not shining!
